Because there was no Atlanta-inspired hot sauce available. Hotlanta Hot Sauce was born out of a simple observation: a city with a distinctive food culture and a bold identity deserved a condiment that celebrated both. A sweet-and-spicy Southern hot sauce designed to honor Atlanta — in the kitchen and at the table.
Origin
After a short stint as a marketing director for a snack foods company — my first job out of college — I started Hotlanta Hot Sauce with two high school friends, Tom and David.
We were inspired to create an Atlanta-themed hot sauce that could hold its own against Texas and New Orleans. Every city with a serious food culture had a signature sauce — except ours. So we built one, grounded in Southern flavor and unapologetically Atlanta.
